Essential Fatty Acids

Essential Fatty Acids are needed by the body for normal metabolic functions. They are classed as 'essential' because they cannot be made by the human body and therefore need to be introduced either from the diet or in the form of a food supplement.

Essential Fatty Acids (also known as EFAs) come in different forms and the most famous are the Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats. Fish oils - particularly cod liver oil - and linseed oil are the best sources of Omega-3 fats. The best source of Omega-6 is Starflower Oil (also known as Borage Oil).
