Hoodia Gordonii is the Latin name for this herbal supplement, also known as Hoodia, Kalahan Cactus, and Xhoba.

Hoodia is a plant with similar appearance to a cactus, derived from the Kalahan Desert in Southern Africa, this slow growing succulent plant is from the milkweed family. Traditionally Hoodia stems were eaten by Kalahari Bushmen to reduce thirst and hunger.
